Am I making cheesecake?

Mr P's and my black lab aka Baby Girl  had learned to steal food.  BG is a sweet lovable ADHD lab (you know, pretty much like Marley) and totally beautiful.  The one sin she did not have until now in her ninth year is this stealing food.

This really started a few weeks ago when CD was coming to visit. In prep for the reuniting of the Ducksters, I was making some yumos.  I had put a stick of Smart Balance/Butter combo on the counter to come to room temp.  I came back to make the first item--Liptauer, Hungarian cheese spread made from cream cheese and butter whirled together and then flavored with minced onion, smokie sweet paprika, capers, and caraway seed--and found that the stick of marg/butter was gone. Huh. I looked all over thinking I had moved it or absent mindedly put it back in the frig when I was cleaning up.  Not there.  Ah huh.  I suspected the true culprit right away but what was to be done at that point.  I set out another stick and the cream cheese to soften but this time in the cupboard.  The Liptauer got made and I started on the shrimp spread--a combo of shrimp, grated cheese, and sour cream flavored with a secret ingredient.  When finished I put all the wrappers in the sour cream container, snapped the lid shut and shoved it in a plastic bag I had hung on a drawer pull specifically for garbage--something I commonly do when making several different items at once.  Later, I heard a strange sound from the kitchen and shouted out "Bingo" a name I frequently call the Baby Girl.  Dead silence and then the sound of the dog door.  I went to investigate. Oh yes. The sour cream container had been carefully removed from the bag and was gone.

When CD was there with her two pups she went out and investigated the yard. Yup. Cream cheese wrapper, marg//butter wrappers, and the sour cream container, neatly opened.

The next theft was totally my fault.  I had bought some lemon shortbread cookies and had decided I really did not like them.  I had taken them from the biscuit tin and put them on a plate to take out and totally forgot. Mr P. saw them and put them up higher but not high enough.  BG struck again.  The next event was a few days later. As I went to make toast the morning after making hot bread under the broiler, the marg was missing.  She got a container of Smart Balance off the counter.  I looked I high and low since I could not remember leaving it out. I asked Mr P if he had moved it. No. I suggested that when the rain stopped he check to see if there was a container of marg in the yard. Oh yeah.  Neatly opened and partially licked out.

I was telling my friend Vicky about this and she said, "I sounds like she's trying to make a cheesecake in her tummy with a lemon shortbread crust."  So, Baby Girl, are you making cheesecake?  Will the sugar disappear next if I leave any out?
